Frequently Asked Questions

What is involved in the treatment?

A very fine probe (about the size of your eyelash ) is used to introduced a very small amount of heat /current along the line of the capillary , this ‘dries up ‘ the blood vessel as it is being treated.

In the case of skin tags and other minor blemishes the probe is used to conduct  heat to the area , this seals off the vessels that nourish the blemish resulting in its demise.

How may treatments will I  require?
Firstly Thread veins require a “ Test Patch” .
The test patch allows the therapist to plan the treatment intervals depending on the individual’s skin sensitivity.

It also allows the client to see how   the skin reacts to the treatment this is useful when planning appointments. Generally 3-5 sessions may be requires to achieve  a satisfying result

* Treatment for skin tags, milia seborrhoea warts etc is usually instantaneous .

Will  my thread veins or skin blemishes return?
The treated vein or skin blemish will not return but if you are prone to these you will get the occasional new one .
A short treatment once a year should be sufficient to keep the skin clear .

Is there much skin reaction?
The skin becomes red immediately after treatment, and this eases after a number of hours. In the case of threaded veins, the skin will be sensitive for a few days. Skin tags, milia etc take a little longer to heal. Your therapist will advise you on aftercare treatment to ensure minimal skin reaction. Make-up can usually be worn 48 hours after treatment.
